11th Big Health Check and Social Care Open Day – Wednesday  22nd May 2019,  9.30am – 3pm – Oxstalls Sports Park, Gloucester

A celebratory event of information sharing and improving access to health and well-being support  for people with learning disabilities and other disabilities

We are now well underway in organising our Big Health Check and Social Care Open day above and would like to invite you all to this fantastic event.

Last year, nearly 1300 children and adults came to this inclusive, interactive event and took part.  There were 101 stallholders from a wide range of organisations in the public, voluntary, private and tertiary sectors, and 11 adapted sports activities were on offer. This year, we are expecting over 1800 people, 105 stalls, 12 static displays and 12 adapted sports linked to Special Olympics Gloucestershire; not to mention the farm animals, therapy dogs, and mounted police horses.  You can see a short film of the highlights from last year’s event here: 10th Big Health Check Day; the taster film! – YouTube

On the day, we are planning to increase awareness of people with a learning disability with complex physical and health needs and those people on the autistic spectrum. We are also planning to engage more community and mental health services, with the pending merge of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Carer Services NHS Trust.
