We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding talented team for holiday cover as a Female BME Project Worker, working in partnership with the Friendship Café to run a women’s Inclusion Hub, engaging with BME communities to offer advice, support, activities, information and consultation opportunities.
Summary of the Role
This role will deliver a project that aims to increase knowledge of health inequalities within the BME (black and minority ethnic) communities, assess the extent of social isolation experienced by BME members with disabilities & provide effective solutions.
This will be done through the delivery of a women’s Inclusion Hub, run one day a week from the Friendship Café in Gloucester, for people from BME communities with disabilities. The Hub will offer consultation opportunities, talks on healthy living, advice, support and leisure pursuits.
The Project Worker will have knowledge of the diverse communities of Gloucestershire and experience of effectively engaging them and will work alongside a colleague with lived experience of disability and expertise in social inclusion and a women’s Inclusion hub project worker.
Fixed term 24th July 2019 – 4 Sept 2019 (7 weeks holiday cover)
Hours: 4 per week (1 x 4-hour day on a Wednesday)
Pension: IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 2% subject to qualifying status
Salary: £9.96 per hour

Holiday: 28 days + bank holidays pro rata
